Radiology Technologist Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic imaging.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identify patients, label images, and process radiographs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Assist and communicate with radiologists, preparing and maintaining records as needed.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements:
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond high school in Radiologic Technology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:

The Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.

The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.

The position may involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requiring the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.

The Radiology Technologist must have clear speech, vision, and hearing, and be able to operate all necessary equipment to perform the job.
