Responsibilities
As an Advanced Automation Systems Engineer, you will identify and integrate off-the-shelf components, including controllers, pneumatics, fluidics, robots, vision systems, motion systems, sensors, part handling systems, safety systems, and conveyors. You will write software and design hardware to support, control, and/or integrate the above automated systems. Your designs must be standards' compliant (ISO13849, NEC, and NFPA79).

You will validate solutions through engineering analysis and calculations. You will participate in regular project meetings with clients and project team to review project status. During startup phases, you will power up and troubleshoot automation systems. You will stay up-to-date on product improvements and newly available technologies for integration. As a senior member of the team, you will provide design directions and lead multiple engineers in projects. You will also assist in proposal writing by providing design concepts, labor and material estimates, and scheduling. Finally, you will promote company values of exceptional engineering, trusted relationships, and uncompromised integrity.

Requirements
This position requires a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university. You must have 4+ years of experience designing complex automated systems as part of a multi-disciplined team. Additionally, you should have experience using LabView and a wide variety of programming languages and platforms. Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential. You must be detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work closely with clients and team members in fast-paced, high-pressure project cycles. Up to 20% of travel may be required between locations. A valid U.S. Driver's License is necessary, and you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Background checks are required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in several of the following environments is desirable: PLC – Rockwell, Siemens, Codesys (Beckhoff, B&R, Bosch); HMI – Rockwell, Siemens, Maple Systems, Wonderware, Inductive Automation Ignition; Industrial Robotics – Fanuc, Epson, Denso, ABB; PC – LabVIEW, Python, VBA, VB, C (C, C++, C#), Java; CAD – AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical, EPLAN; familiarity with Virtual Machines, Linux, embedded systems.
