Position Summary

The Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Systems Engineer is tasked with the administration, upkeep, and optimization of the Navy's Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client/server framework, which supports the development, testing, and delivery of the Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment (STAVE) program along with other simulation applications and services for the NCTE.

The selected candidate will join a team responsible for system engineering, integration, hardware and software support, as well as technical and administrative support services for systems within STAVE. Responsibilities include providing IT services, support for baseline updates, installation services, software support, and system administration. The candidate will deliver services across all phases of system engineering, integration, and support to ensure that clients achieve their mission objectives. This encompasses a comprehensive range of infrastructure design, implementation, and integration tasks, including but not limited to concept development, planning, requirements definition and analysis, systems design, integration, testing, implementation, deployment, support, and sustainment.

Key Responsibilities

* Proficient in Microsoft Windows 10, Server 2016, and 2022
* Fundamental understanding of Active Directory.
* Experience with VMWare vSphere, including architectural design, troubleshooting, and management.
* Familiarity with VMWare Horizon VDI environments
* Experience with 3D graphical virtualization (NVIDIA GRID technology) is preferred
* Ability to resolve complex technical issues through a structured escalation process.
* Experience with upgrades, migrations, and integration.
* Strong customer service orientation, with the capability to manage customer requirements and multiple work priorities
* Knowledge of Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines
* Must be capable of lifting at least 50lbs
* Familiarity with iSCSI is a plus
* Experience with Powerstore storage devices is advantageous
* Security + and Microsoft or VMWare certification required
* Candidate must meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT Level 2
* Must be a US Citizen and currently possess and be able to maintain a US Secret security clearance.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 0 years of experience with a Master's degree in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience.

Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as indicated by market survey data.
