The Role – Sustainability Coordinator
We are looking for a Sustainability Coordinator to elevate our sustainability initiatives at our venue. This position will provide both administrative and operational support to ensure the effective execution of our sustainability programs.
This role will work closely with Live Nation's national Sustainability Team while reporting directly to the Venue Operations Manager, becoming an integral part of the venue operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training & Engagement:
Participate in orientation sessions with the national Sustainability Team and assist in leading training relevant to sustainability initiatives. - Collaborate with venue leadership to communicate essential information during pre-show meetings.
- Engage with departments such as concessions and maintenance to integrate sustainability practices into their operations.
- Work alongside the Marketing Lead to share updates on sustainability efforts across social media platforms.
- Partner with the Experience Manager to recognize team members who excel in contributing to our zero waste objectives.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance enthusiasm and participation in sustainability initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to venue staff to share progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in building the Sustainability Team with the Recruiting Specialist.
- Zero Waste Planning & Execution:
Manage the Sustainability Team and oversee the sorting of recycling, composting, and landfill materials post-event. - Collaborate with venue leaders to develop a comprehensive zero waste strategy and support departments in their waste diversion efforts.
- Be present on event days to ensure compliance with the zero waste plan and maintain quality control.
- Utilize checklists to assess readiness for events and make necessary adjustments.
- Identify opportunities to enhance waste diversion throughout the season.
- Reporting and Data Management:
Utilize Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Box to track and report on key sustainability metrics. - Manage vendor relationships to ensure accurate data collection and negotiate requirements.
- Source new vendors as necessary and create engaging reports to share venue-wide.
- Complete venue audits and participate in weekly progress discussions with the National Sustainability Team.
Qualifications:
This role requires physical stamina, as it involves significant walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) during events. Candidates should be comfortable working long hours, including weekends and holidays.
We seek individuals with strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of leadership experience in operations, event coordination, or sustainability initiatives.
Exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative spirit are essential for success in this role.
