We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our PreOp/PACU team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, working within the nursing process to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assume relief charge duties and provide clinical leadership to other staff members, promoting a positive work environment and quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained, and participate in emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
This position requires the ability to work in a hospital setting, with exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided as necessary.
