Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nurse Intern to join our Neuroscience team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Nurse Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced nurses and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights
- Document and communicate clinical findings
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans
- Participate in educational programs and workshops to enhance professional growth and development
Requirements:
- Student in good standing at the University of New Mexico College of Nursing
- Basic Nursing Skills Course completion
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions:
The Nurse Intern will work in a hospital setting, with limited access to the medication room. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
