Position Overview:

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a skilled Senior Project Engineer to oversee our Self-Performed Work (SPW) in the Midwest Region, specifically targeting projects across Central and Eastern Iowa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate conceptual budgets and comprehensive bid estimates for various carpentry and concrete initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and manage vendor and subcontractor bid requests, along with procurement of materials and services.
  • Monitor and analyze craftworker labor efficiencies.
  • Facilitate and coordinate both internal and external project meetings.
  • Effectively manage project expenses to ensure profitable results.
  • Deliver internal project status presentations.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of business strategies.
  • Review and authorize vendor and subcontractor billing.
  • Maintain historical cost records for SPW.
  • Assist Ryan's development, architectural, and construction teams with preconstruction and construction insights to enhance value engineering efforts, including cost estimation and scheduling related to SPW tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering/Management or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for project execution.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience in self-performed work.
  • Specialized knowledge in carpentry and concrete project scopes.
  • Capability to independently estimate and oversee multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Familiarity with Construction Management, Estimating, and Project Management software (e.g., Procore, Destini Estimator, MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS Teams, JD Edwards E1, Building Connected).
  • Experience in design-build commercial construction.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.
Compensation Overview:

The annual base salary is $63,700, with potential variations based on factors such as the position's location and the candidate's qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission and/or incentive programs.
