Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Learning Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of classroom activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • Provide exceptional care and supervision to children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to develop and lead daily lesson plans that align with the YMCA's educational philosophy and curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and daily activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, arrival, and departure times, as well as other relevant information.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Credential in Infant Toddler CDA or Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Three to six months of childcare-related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with various software applications.
