Job Description for Materials Scientist

At Optimal CAE, we are seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing materials laboratory analysis, including DSC, TGA, DMA, and material mechanical testing following ASTM standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design of Experiment: Develop and execute design of experiment protocols to optimize polymer and composite material performance.
  • Material Process Design: Assist in the development of composite material process designs and optimization.
  • Laboratory Reporting: Author laboratory reports to summarize research work and findings.
  • Communication: Coordinate and communicate with researcher, engineering, manufacturing, plant, supplier personnel, and others to implement methods improvement, product improvements, and support internal programs.
  • Staying Abreast of New Technology: Stay current with new technology and advancements in the field.
  • Research and Development: Conduct research and development on moldings and surface properties, compression and vacuum bay molding properties, and test lab experience.
  • Data Analysis: Provide analysis on data summary reports and utilize Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Material Science is required. US citizenship is mandatory for this position.
