Plumbing Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Plumbing Instructor to join our team at Baltimore City Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Plumbing program, providing a comprehensive education in the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in the trade.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for the Plumbing program, ensuring that students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the trade.
• Teach and mentor students in the classroom and laboratory settings, providing individualized instruction and support as needed.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback, making adjustments to instruction as necessary to ensure student success.
• Collaborate with other educators and industry professionals to stay current on industry developments and best practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and industry partners to provide students with opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and job placement.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on teaching methods and technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Career and Technology Education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of experience in the Plumbing trade, or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Valid Maryland teaching certification, or eligibility for certification.
• Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Master's degree in Career and Technology Education or a related field.
• Experience teaching in a vocational or technical education setting.
• Industry certifications, such as NCCER or Maryland Board of Plumbing Contractors Master License.
