Position Summary:

The Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in fortifying the security framework of Torc's product offerings. This position involves close collaboration with the Safety and Regulatory team to craft the cybersecurity components of the Torc Safety Case, alongside leading the execution of the Torc cybersecurity management system. A profound grasp of both software and hardware security principles is essential, along with a proactive mindset towards threat modeling and the capability to engage cross-departmentally to embed robust security measures throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and uphold a thorough cybersecurity architecture for our product suite, ensuring compliance with industry standards and alignment with business goals.
  • Document, manage, and spearhead the execution of critical activities within the cybersecurity management framework.
  • Conduct comprehensive threat analyses and risk assessments in collaboration with a cross-functional team, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with product development teams to integrate security into the design and development phases of products.
  • Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, continuously refining our security strategies and solutions.
  • Oversee the application of security controls, including encryption, access management, network security, and secure coding practices.
  • Provide expert mentorship to cybersecurity team members, promoting a culture of security awareness across the organization.
  • Engage with external security vendors and partners, managing relationships to ensure effective integration of third-party security solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on security architecture, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable industry, regulatory, and organizational cybersecurity standards and policies.
  • Participate in and support incident response and forensic investigations in the event of a security breach.
  • Represent Torc at external standards and industry forums, articulating our product cybersecurity strategy.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years dedicated to product security architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
  • Experience in cloud security, IoT security, and securing embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, 21434, UNECE R155).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Leadership capabilities and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
  • Proven success in implementing effective cybersecurity solutions within product development.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills to identify issues and provide solutions that enhance the security of self-driving technology.
