Position Overview

The Epic Training Lead will be tasked with:
  • Delivering comprehensive training to the Pediatric Physicians' Organization at Children's (PPOC) Internal Staff and Practice Staff on the licensed Epic applications. This includes utilizing various instructional methods and formats, such as virtual sessions, classroom training, and group webinars via online platforms.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert in the Epic application for which certification has been obtained.
  • Managing the development and updates of training environments (MST, REF, PREP, ACEs, PLY, EXAM).
  • Collaborating with PPOC Departments to devise strategies for all course delivery related to Epic.
  • Engaging with PPOC Departments to research and develop new training courses and materials, incorporating audio, visual, and presentation media. This includes writing, designing, and presenting courses tailored to meet the organization's requirements, as well as creating, updating, and maintaining training resources.
  • Overseeing the e-learning platform for PPOC, coordinating with the e-learning vendor, publishing new courses, and providing usage metrics.
  • Formulating individualized training plans for practices, customizing these plans based on workflow analysis. Assessing existing workflows to offer guidance on optimizing their operations through effective use of Epic.
  • Supervising the creation of tailored Epic Training for practices in partnership with PPOC Practice Consultants.
  • Serving as an Epic Principal Trainer for PPOC initiatives, mentoring staff across the organization in platform and facilitation skills through a train-the-trainer approach. Monitoring evaluation data to implement program enhancements as necessary.
  • Assisting in the oversight of Service Desk Support Tickets and maintaining communication with practices regarding issues.
  • Providing direct support to end users by addressing Service Desk inquiries.
  • Delivering on-site, hands-on support for new practices transitioning to Epic.
Qualifications Required:
  • Two to five years of prior experience in Epic Training and experience in building training environments. A proven ability to effectively apply adult learning principles is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of two years of experience in Epic training or adult education.
  • Certification in Epic Applications - specifically EpicCare Ambulatory.
  • Experience in Epic Training Environment Build.
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific, or technical principles, along with in-depth, cross-functional knowledge.
  • Effective communication skills to navigate conflicting views or issues and mediate equitable solutions, as well as well-developed writing skills.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Critical thinking abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of clinical or administrative workflows, with the ability to analyze and evaluate them.
