Responsibilities:- Conduct early-stage research on novel optical detection systems, including design, development, and testing of optical components and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical detection systems with chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments.
- Develop and implement new methods for optical detection, including spectroscopy, scattering, and imaging techniques.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, patent applications, and transferable protocols.
- Design, set-up, and run experiments to test and validate optical detection systems.
- Recent PhD in Optical Science, Physics, or related field.
- Experience with optical spectroscopy, scattering techniques, chemometrics, plasmonics, biosensors, and laser spectroscopy.
- Hands-on experience with optical assemblies or flow cells.
- Innovative mindset and agility to foster new and diverse ideas.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Python, Matlab, Zemax, Fluent, or other scripting language.
