Job Summary

MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join its expanding team in the Adult Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. The ideal candidate will provide medical leadership and expertise to the multidisciplinary ACT team, working closely with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, psychotherapists, case managers, and other staff to deliver high-quality care to patients 18 years of age and older.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, incorporating pharmacologic interventions and consulting/integrating with primary care and therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with the ACT team to provide medical leadership and expertise, ensuring adherence to national ACT standards.
  • Work closely with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
  • Meet with patients to discuss treatment plans, answer questions, and provide education on mental health conditions and treatment options.
Requirements
  • Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School.
  • Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
  • Current and valid licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
  • Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence.
  • Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.
  • Current DEA Registration Certificate.
  • At least 3 years of experience, inclusive of residency and/or fellowship training.
