The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Psychiatrist to join our team at the Student Health Center. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide direct, outpatient, ambulatory patient care, including psychiatric consultations and facilitating hospitalizations.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to students with mental health concerns
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in psychiatric care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of Psychiatry Residency at an ACGME-accredited program
- Current license to practice medicine in the State of California
- Board Certification in Psychiatry
- Active and current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
- Knowledge of current psychiatric diagnosis and treatment principles
- 3-5 years of direct patient care experience after completing accredited residency training in medicine
- Strong knowledge of early adolescent and transitional age youth/emerging adult population psychiatric treatment
