Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift is a key member of the Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the assigned department. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the company's processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Departmental Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the daily objectives of the department, ensuring that all team members are properly trained and equipped to meet their responsibilities.
  • Training and Development: Train lead persons in all job requirements, including supervisory responsibilities, and ensure that all employees understand the processes and procedures they are involved in.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Confer with management and employees to resolve departmental problems, and recommend changes or work practices to improve department standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Compile required reports and document steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
  • Employee Management: Complete daily timesheets and scheduled time off for employees, and ensure that they adhere to company policies and work rules.
  • Performance Evaluation and Development: Conduct employee evaluations as scheduled, and conduct disciplinary actions in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
  • Representation and Communication: Represent the department at company meetings, functions, and activities.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma, GED equivalency, or knowledge within the food industry equivalent to such education.
  • Experience: Three to five years of related experience in the food industry, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role where responsibility was maintained to ensure employees are fully trained and have a complete understanding of the process.
  • Skills and Certifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, HACCP certification, knowledge of USDA regulations, and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
