Job Summary:

This role is responsible for preparing kidney and liver transplant patients for discharge from surgery. The nurse will educate patients, obtain outpatient medications, and communicate with the transplant team. Additionally, this role involves obtaining informed consent for liver transplant candidates.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, no call.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Evaluate and modify care plans as needed.
  • Provide education to patients and families about post-discharge care.

Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • 3-4 years of Medical/Surgical or Intensive Care experience.
  • (NLC) NURSING LICENSURE COMPACT-BNE Current Texas RN (or BNE Compact State) license required.
  • (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC). Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
