Overview
As a Security Officer, you will oversee the premises to maintain order, enforce regulations, and monitor for any suspicious activities by performing the following essential duties:
- Conduct regular patrols of lobbies, corridors, guest rooms, and other areas, collaborating with management and engaging with guests and employees.
- Carry out incident interviews as part of investigations related to complaints, thefts, vandalism, accidents, illnesses, policy violations, and other loss-related events.
- Monitor security cameras and fire panels as necessary.
- Address and remove troublemakers while advising careless individuals.
- Respond to and assist victims of accidents and/or illnesses as required.
- Support management and law enforcement during emergency situations.
- Manage all situations in a calm, professional, and courteous manner.
- Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately.
- Adhere to lost and found procedures.
- Conduct daily key inventories and report any discrepancies.
- Oversee the distribution of keys and sign-out sheets for employees and vendors.
- Respond to alarm notifications promptly.
- Assist with emergency and evacuation training and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Applicants must possess a valid NYS Security Guard license.
Qualifications: To excel in this role, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED. One year of security experience and/or three years of military service is preferred.
Language Skills: Must communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow employees.
Reasoning Ability: Must exercise sound judgment in determining situations that require immediate or emergency response and action.
Compensation Range
The compensation for this position ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
