About the Position

Colorado State University is seeking highly qualified candidates for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Counseling and Career Development (CCD) Master of Arts Program. The successful candidates will teach graduate-level counseling courses, provide clinical supervision, and engage in research and scholarly activity aligned with the university's research-intensive goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach face-to-face graduate-level counseling courses in the CCD Program, with a typical teaching load of two courses per semester.
  • Establish a scholarly research and grant-writing record with impact on counseling and counselor education.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision during students' practicum and internship experiences.
  • Integrate instructional and clinical technologies into the curriculum and supervision.
  • Provide leadership in specialization area(s) and support program accreditation-related activities.
  • Advise and mentor graduate students in the CCD Program, serve on graduate program committees, and engage in program development activities.
  • Provide service to the School of Education, University, community, state, and nation.
  • Participate in professional service and outreach efforts related to counseling at local, national, and international levels.
Requirements
  • An earned doctorate or successful defense of dissertation by August 2025 in either Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program or a counselor education program and able to meet requirements to serve as core faculty within a CACREP-accredited counseling program.
  • Colorado Professional Counseling licensure or licensure eligible, and/or Colorado School Counseling licensure or licensure-eligible.
  • Proven scholarly research and publication record commensurate with an R1 University, or potential to establish such a record.
  • Experience with graduate teaching and clinical supervision.
  • Commitment to using emerging technology in teaching, research, and service.
  • Demonstrated professional commitment to working with diverse populations.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and practice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • School counseling licensure or licensure-eligible in Colorado.
  • Evidence for and commitment to sustained professional engagement through professional development, professional service, and advocacy in the PK-12 population and/or education communities.
  • Research and scholarly activity with a focus on the PK-12 population and/or education communities.
  • Experience in consultation and collaboration within PK-12 school settings and/or education communities.
  • A record of, or demonstrated potential for, successful external grant seeking and acquisition.
  • Familiarity with the CACREP-accreditation process and experience in aligning curriculum, especially school counseling curriculum, to CACREP accreditation standards.
