Hamilton County Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate English/Language Arts Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic journey of our students.
Responsibilities- Teaching and Learning
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the Tennessee State English Language Arts Standards.
- Establish clear learning targets and consistently assess student progress.
- Implement high-leverage literacy practices to promote student growth.
- Classroom Culture
- Create a safe and productive learning environment that fosters positive relationships and a growth mindset.
- Family and Community
- Build strong relationships with students' families and keep them informed of student progress.
- Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's learning.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional learning communities to improve teaching and student learning.
- Reflect on instruction and leadership to contribute to the mission and goals of the school.
- Commitment to high academic achievement and high expectations for all students.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families.
- Openness to coaching and feedback to advance student learning.
- Professional with high personal standards and integrity.
- Valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in English/Language Arts 6-8, English 6-12, or upcoming graduation from an accredited teacher preparation program.
- Bachelor's degree.
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience. This position may be eligible for an increase in total compensation through the Differentiated Compensation Plan.
