POSITION SUMMARY:
The Store Worker I operates under close supervision, executing stocking and cleaning responsibilities at a retail location primarily focused on the resale of goods, such as a military base commissary. Utilizing non-motorized tools, the Store Worker I organizes merchandise intended for display and resale, adhering to a predetermined labeling and placement system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. *Restocks merchandise on shelves.
2. *Reorganizes misplaced items.
3. *Disposes of excess and damaged products, debris, and packaging materials.
4. *Arranges merchandise in a display area to ensure a tidy and appealing presentation.
5. *Rotates stock to maintain freshness and monitor sale dates.
6. *Removes damaged or outdated items.
7. *Returns surplus merchandise to storage.
8. *Cleans and dusts shelves and products using standard retail techniques.
9. *Conducts wet or dry cleaning as necessary.
10. *Provides excellent customer service by assisting customers with product location and selection.
11. *May operate manual equipment such as pallet jacks or carts.
12. Completes additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to follow structured processes and instructions; proficiency in using appropriate tools and equipment; flexibility in schedule and task assignments; availability for evening shifts; basic math skills for inventory reporting; capability to interpret stock and shelf labels, date codes, and manage stock rotation; strong collaboration skills with management, coworkers, customers, and vendors; commitment to excellent customer service; ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The role is conducted in a retail, warehouse, or distribution setting, where employees may encounter forklifts and other material handling equipment. Employees may be exposed to noise from machinery and varying weather conditions.
