Job Summary

The Facilities Operations Senior Project Manager is a technical and logistical project manager working in support of the Division of Facilities Operations. This role is responsible for the execution of contracted Capital Asset Preservation Program (CAPP) and Critical System Replacement (CSR) major maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists Supervisor with the hiring, training, and management of Project Managers.
  • Supervises and oversees the planning and completion of maintenance and repair projects.
  • Day-to-day administration of term contracts for preventive maintenance and repair services.
  • Provides input to Supervisor for six-year Capital Asset Preservation Program (CAPP) Budget and annual Operating Budget.
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the capital asset inventory database.
  • Assists in the preparation of procurement-related documents.
  • Serves as Essential Personnel and may lead Facilities Operations Division response to facility emergencies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Business, Construction, Facilities Management, or related industry.
  • Ten years of experience in Facilities Management, including five years of project management experience, and five or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facility maintenance, repair, and construction principles and practices.
  • Thorough understanding of technology, project management tools, and maintenance and construction practices.
  • Organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to provide quality control.
  • Intermediate level experience using Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Good human relations and communications skills.

Essential Personnel

Employees who perform the responsibilities of this position for the Department of Support Services are considered essential personnel. Essential personnel are designated employees who must report for work during a delay or emergency situations.

A workplace emergency is an unforeseen situation that threatens the staff, pupils, or the public; disrupts or shuts down business operations; or causes physical or environmental damage. Emergencies may be natural or manmade. It is incumbent upon the supervisor to inform and confirm which essential personnel are required to work during emergency closings.

Notification and confirmation of the expectation of essential personnel to report to work, or maintain as-needed status, will be executed with as much advanced notice as possible via in-person communication or email.
