Job Title: Structural Bridge Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Bridge Engineer to join our team in Virginia. As a key member of our Bridges Team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing bridge structures to ensure they meet the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare structural design calculations, plans, and contract documents in accordance with applicable design and agency standards.
  • Perform structural analysis of new designs and existing structures, including bridges and other transportation infrastructure.
  • Lead and review conceptual design alternatives to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
  • Perform inspections of bridges and prepare inspection reports.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to participate in project teams, engage in creative and critical thinking, and effectively communicate ideas.
  • EIT certification is required.
  • Experience with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications is required.
  • Experience with MDOT SHA, MDTA, and VDOT design criteria and requirements is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Bridge load rating experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of national and state bridge inspection methods, evaluations, and report preparation is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia area.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights using various bridge inspection access equipment.
