Orora Group is seeking a skilled Finishing Machine Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment and auxiliary equipment related to the machine. This role requires a strong understanding of printing, finishing, or bindery equipment and the ability to work independently as well as with a crew/team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate finishing equipment to produce high-quality products
  • Maintain equipment and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Direct the activities of the crew with assigned tasks during downtime and make-ready periods
  • Perform routine quality adjustments during production runs and maintain production standards
  • Maintain records of daily production via data collection computer
  • Perform make-readies and routine quality checks
  • Follow all safety policies and regulations, reporting any potential hazards, near misses, or accidents immediately
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment with press team members as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a machine operator or display some level of machine operator's knowledge with troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a crew/team
  • May be required to work nights and weekends as needed for temporary needs
  • Ability to lift to 40 pounds occasionally
Physical Demands

This job operates in a production environment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, sit, drive, and see. The employee is frequently required to walk, read, write, and operate material handling equipment.
