We are seeking a highly skilled Telemetry Technician to join our team at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. As a Telemetry Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring electrocardiogram and SPO2 measurements for designated patients and informing the RN of changes.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor patient data from various departments, including intensive care units, step-down units, emergency rooms, and medical-surgical floors.
- Maintain and check monitoring equipment daily.
- Work as a part of the patient care team to maintain organization within the clinical station.
- Answer telephones and patient call lights promptly.
- Assist patients, hospital visitors, and members of the healthcare team.
- Perform some clerical functions including organizing the clinical station, tracking equipment inventory, as well as monitoring electronic orders.
- Notify the Charge Nurse of new admits and maintains the census record.
- Participate in Swap Shifts to ensure skill competency.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of basic arrhythmia course (ECG certification) and ECG test required.
- Recent experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Technician - Clerical Coordinator in an acute healthcare environment preferred.
- Completion of a Clerical Coordinator course including medical terminology preferred.
Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem positions are available. Benefits eligible for Full-Time and Part-Time positions. Schedule includes 12-hour shifts, primarily nights, with other shifts available.
