We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our production team at Mettler-Toledo. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling sheet metal components for our products.
Key Responsibilities- Operate various pieces of equipment, including sheet metal shears, brakes, saws, and machining centers.
- Accurately read and interpret standard blueprints and engineered documentation.
- Conduct daily preventative maintenance on machinery and ensure quality throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that stock is properly controlled.
- Actively participate in facility 5S and Lean initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Operate fork trucks and cranes safely and efficiently.
- Identify and implement safety improvements to ensure a safe working environment.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to setup and operate saws, brakes, shears, and other machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret standard blueprints and other engineered documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with torches, cutters, staplers, hand/pneumatic tools, and hand tools.
- Ability to read tape measure and work with fixtures.
- Ability to safely operate Jib and overhead cranes.
- Ability to perform quality inspections on own work and the work of others based on set expectations.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Good verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to understand fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and meet customer quality and delivery requirements.
