Atrium Health is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist I to join our team in the Interventional Radiology department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will assist in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic minimally invasive percutaneous procedures using radiographic and other imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, utilizing radiographic and other imaging equipment.
- Employ techniques and procedures that are age-appropriate, in accordance with accepted standards of practice, while demonstrating expertise in limiting radiation and laser exposure to patients and other members of the healthcare team.
- Ensure readiness of emergency equipment and supplies, recognizing and reacting appropriately to potential emergencies.
- Perform routine analysis on imaging equipment to assure proper working conditions and minimize downtime.
- Provide instruction, education, and consultation to healthcare personnel and patients to promote and improve quality patient care.
- Maintain coordination of activities with others to accomplish work objectives through positive and professional interactions.
- Maintain accurate and current departmental records and reports.
- Ensure patient needs are met, promote excellent customer service, and provide quality care through evaluation of pertinent patient data prior to performance of procedures.
- Provide technologist coverage for 24-hour emergency Neuro Endovascular and Vascular Interventional services.
- Provide age-developmental appropriate care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Guidelines for the age groups served.
- Associate's degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Interventional Technology program required.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required.
- BCLS CPR certification required.
- Advanced certification required within one year of hire date (ARRT CV, CI, or VI).
- ACLS preferred.
This role may involve exposure to infections and contagious diseases, frequent exposure to low-level radiation, and occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements. The successful candidate will be required to wear protective equipment, including eye protection, face protection, gown, lead apron, mask, sterile and non-sterile medical gloves.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing. The successful candidate will be required to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
