About the Role

George F. Young, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional results. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and directing civil engineering projects from inception to completion.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring timely completion and profitability.
  • Oversee project schedules, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as a project manager or senior project engineer, providing expert guidance and support to team members.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective relationship strategies.
  • Coordinate and approve pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
  • Develop and manage engineering agreements for assigned projects.
  • Prepare forecasts of workload for assigned staff, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Develop probable construction cost estimates for assigned projects.
  • Attend client meetings, providing exceptional communication and project management skills.
  • Ensure accurate client billings, monitor outstanding accounts receivable, and drive collection efforts.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to inform project planning and design.
  • Direct and supervise other engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Handle contract administration, ensuring compliance and timely completion.
  • Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs.
  • Instruct draftspersons/technicians to reduce designs to working drawings.
  • Visit construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Ensure project manager and/or project team quality system tasks are completed as defined in the quality manual.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
  • Valid driver's license.
