About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ADAS Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Co. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of innovative automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 3D models, 2D layouts, and drawings of automotive electrical components, including vision systems and radar for automotive driving, sensors for safety systems, and related hardware.
  • Evaluate the feasibility, layout, cost, weight, and maintenance requirements of designs and applications.
  • Develop and propose new design guides to Technical Management, as necessary.
  • Manage development projects and schedules, coordinate with corollary departments and suppliers, and research new technologies and market trends.
  • Write and present technical reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant design experience.
  • Basic proficiency in CATIA V5/V6.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to cultivate and manage relationships with varying levels of people within and outside the organization, including suppliers.
  • Strong customer service focus and mindset.
  • Strong project organization and management capability.
  • Ability to adapt to new environments, negotiate through unknowns, and meet new people.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and productively.
  • Solid quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Computer skills, such as PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Word, CATIA, CAE, etc.
  • Strong decision-making skills, able to make sound decisions on complex matters.
  • Effective negotiation ability.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Strong global dexterity and ability to adapt to cultural differences.
  • Ability to design for assembly.
  • Strong tolerance study and calculation capability.
  • Acute attention to detail.
Working Conditions
  • Commitment to work necessary work hours to achieve all responsibilities, including overtime and operating periodically at early and late day hours.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
  • Kneeling, bending, sitting, standing, and maneuvering inside of vehicles is required.
  • Travel is sometimes required - ~5% (International travel may be requested).
  • Office work is split between on-site and remote (Work from Home, WFH).
  • Vehicle-level testing is conducted either on-site in a specified lab or offsite at a supplier/contracted facility.
