Position Overview:

The role of the Intermediate School Science Educator encompasses the responsibility of delivering educational content to students in grades 6 through 8, adhering to established academic standards.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Assistant Principal of Middle School/High School.

Work Schedule:

Regular working hours are from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM on weekdays, with weekly faculty meetings scheduled.

Supervision:

The educator will oversee student activities and behavior during instructional time.

Compensation:

Salary is determined according to the Teacher Salary Scale.

Performance Evaluation:

Annual evaluations will be conducted by the Supervisor, providing feedback on performance.

Qualifications:

  • Must acknowledge Christ as Savior and strive to embody His teachings.
  • Must hold a belief in the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
  • Must actively support the school's statement of faith.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to spiritual growth through prayer, Bible study, and outreach.
  • Serve as a Christian role model in all interactions (Luke 6:40).
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Must feel called to the ministry of Christian education.
  • Exhibit a spirit of service (Romans 12:7) in all responsibilities.
  • Be loyal, adaptable, eager to learn, and well-organized.
  • A Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required; a Master's degree and/or certification in education is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission of The Frankfort Christian Academy by partnering with parents to equip students with biblical truths.
  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students.
  • Collaborate with administration to address instructional program needs.
  • Develop and prepare weekly lesson plans.
  • Create unit plans for all subjects taught, to be included in school-wide curriculum documentation.
  • Assist in the development of the school-wide curriculum across all subjects.
  • Grade student assignments promptly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student grades on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Provide high-quality instruction that meets and exceeds educational standards.
  • Organize educational field trips that enhance the curriculum, including all necessary preparations.
  • Participate in weekly faculty meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain certification with ACSI or the state of Kentucky.
  • Prepare a comprehensive substitute teacher folder with essential information.
  • Oversee the administration of yearly assessments according to established protocols.
  • Coordinate parent-teacher conferences as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and participate in safety drills.
  • Serve on faculty committees as directed by the Principal.
  • Engage in school events such as open houses and staff meetings.
  • Support students in extracurricular activities and performances.
  • Attend weekly chapel services and supervise student participation.
  • Assist with planning and supervising student activities outside of regular school hours.
  • Participate in the organization of annual retreats and special events.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The school will provide necessary professional support for effective educational ministry.
  • Salary and benefits will be provided as agreed upon.
