Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cashier to join our team at Westlake Ace Hardware. As a key member of our retail staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing cash register transactions, and assisting with office duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Project a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware, greet customers, and thank them by name whenever possible.
  • Register Operations: Follow all cash register transaction procedures, balance the register drawer, and adhere to any Store Support Center programs or promotions.
  • Cash Room Operations: Verify Cashier-balancing procedures, deposit procedures, and policies in the absence of the Assistant Manager-Operations.
  • Office Operations: Assist the Assistant Manager-Operations with office duties, including receiving, invoices, purchase orders, inventory adjustments, and quarterly audits.
  • Front End Appearance and Upkeep: Keep the front end neat and clean, face and dust the front end, and ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts.
  • Leadership: Communicate merchandising, cost control, or sales ideas to the General Manager, participate in store and Cashier meetings, and assist with training and development of new cashiers.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience in retail and/or office management, cashier experience, and customer service experience preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to exhibit and incorporate our Core Values into daily decisions and interactions with others, standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs), and climbing.
