Quality Carriers is seeking a skilled Trailer and Truck Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, special inspections, and general repairs on tractor and trailer units. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience in repair and service of trailers and medium-duty trucks, along with demonstrated knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Perform annual and systematic inspections on equipment as required by DOT and company standards
- Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed
- Order and receive parts and supplies to maintain equipment and facilities
- Adhere to all established safety and environmental policies and standards to ensure a safe working environment
- Clean, organize, and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in repair and service of trailers and medium-duty trucks
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies, and procedures
- Ability to use vehicle diagnostic software to troubleshoot and repair equipment
