Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Walgreens. As a Summer Pharmacy Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting and develop valuable skills in patient care, customer service, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services, including patient counseling and medication therapy management.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Learn from store and pharmacy team members, field leadership, team members, and customers/patients, and apply knowledge to improve patient care and customer service.
  • Perform duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist, including entering, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
  • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $16.50 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as a collaborative and supportive work environment.
