As a Surgical Technologist, you will collaborate with a team to provide exceptional patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinical professional in a clinical setting. This role involves being accountable for the technical duties associated with the 'scrub' position during the surgical patient's perioperative journey.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare the operating room and assist in patient readiness.
- Ensure rooms are equipped with the necessary instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; open sterile materials and organize sterile setups for surgical procedures.
- Conduct office tests and perform administrative tasks.
- Assess supplies and equipment needed for procedures as per the surgeon's preference card.
- Exhibit the necessary skills and knowledge to set up an operating room with the appropriate equipment and instruments for specific surgeries.
- Inform the circulator of any missing or malfunctioning equipment or supplies.
- Practice cost efficiency by only opening the minimal supplies required for each procedure.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a surgical technician program and/or 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech is preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
