Position Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to oversee and manage all aspects of the Integrated Management System (IMS) at the manufacturing facility, ensuring that products consistently meet both internal and external quality standards as well as regulatory requirements. This position also involves collaborating with the Plant Manager to facilitate quality-related communications with clients and fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement among all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management:

  • Ensure adherence to all quality management system standards, including ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the HACCP program and support risk assessment initiatives.
  • Prepare for and successfully conduct internal and external quality and food safety audits.
  • Provide monthly reports on quality and food safety metrics in accordance with corporate guidelines.

Quality Control:

  • Guarantee compliance with all regulatory and customer specifications for products and packaging.
  • Issue required compliance documents, such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Oversee the plant's quality control program, including product testing and data integrity.
  • Manage calibration programs for quality testing equipment.
  • Assist in the qualification and verification of new products and equipment.
  • Standardize quality documentation and utilize effective document control systems.
  • Document and report supplier quality issues and support logistics in resolving complaints.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Facilitate customer visits and serve as the primary contact for quality and regulatory communications.
  • Manage the customer complaint process, applying root cause analysis techniques.
  • Support training initiatives for other departments in root cause analysis processes.

Laboratory Oversight:

  • Ensure all personnel conducting quality tests are adequately trained and qualified.

Team Leadership:

  • Conduct regular quality staff meetings to promote teamwork and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of team attendance and performance.
  • Collaborate with HR in recruiting new team members.
  • Administer disciplinary actions and conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate necessary training for staff.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Quality Assurance, with a proven track record as a QA Manager in a manufacturing setting.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Excel, SPC software, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of statistical methods.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to manage customer relationships effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills to thrive in a multi-tasking environment.
