U-Haul Storage Center Manager Job Description

U-Haul is seeking a highly motivated and organized Storage Center Manager to oversee the daily operations of one of our moving and storage centers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the center runs efficiently and effectively, providing exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the center's financial performance, including profit/loss analysis and budgeting.
  • Hire, train, and mentor a team of staff members to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality operations.
  • Oversee inventory management, including tracking and itemizing stock, and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Manage the fleet of equipment, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained, and delivered to customers on time.
  • Monitor and control expenses, including fuel receipts and petty cash.
  • Ensure the center is clean, secure, and well-maintained, and that customers receive the highest level of care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development through U-Haul University to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or a service industry, with a proven track record of financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • Computer expertise and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

The work requires some physical exertion, including long periods of standing, walking, and lifting, with a minimum of 50 pounds assisted or unassisted.
