Senior Social Media Strategist

ESPN is seeking a highly skilled Senior Social Media Specialist to lead the development and execution of social media strategies across all ESPN platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social media trends and best practices, as well as a proven track record of creating engaging content that resonates with a diverse audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies that align with ESPN's business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create high-quality, engaging content that drives audience growth and engagement.
- Manage and maintain ESPN's social media presence across multiple platforms, including Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, and Snapchat.
- Analyze performance metrics and provide data-driven insights to inform social media strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve ESPN's social media presence.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a fast-paced social media environment with content creation responsibilities.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience using video editing software (e.g. Final Cut, Premiere).
- A minimum of 2 years' experience using photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of social media comprehension and execution across multiple social media platforms.
- Excellent news judgement and verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of journalistic standards.
- Ability to work quickly and juggle multiple tasks during a typical workday.
- Ability to analyze and apply data to decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous brand voice and account launch management.
- Experience using motion graphics or visual effects software (e.g. After Effects).
- Advanced knowledge of the latest social media and tech trends.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, Media or related field
ESPN is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. The hiring range for this position is $81,918 to $109,890 per year, and the base pay will be determined based on internal equity and other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
