Job Summary

The Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, working under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide personalized care and support to patients in need. This role requires a compassionate and skilled individual who can observe, report, and document patient care with precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, as assigned by the patient's care plan.
  • Meet the safety needs of patients, using equipment safely and properly, and reporting any concerns to the Case Manager.
  • Assist with feeding, ambulation, and exercise, as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
  • Provide emotional support and respite for patients, families, and caregivers, as needed.
  • Document patient care and observations, adhering to our organization's documentation and care procedures.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a state-established training program or competency evaluation program.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
  • Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort in providing specialized care to the terminally ill.
  • Satisfactory references from previous employers.
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
