Electrophysiology Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Technician to join our team at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. As an Electrophysiology Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
  • RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) certification
Preferred Certifications
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • Fluoroscopy permit
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the performance of electrophysiology procedures, including cardiac catheterizations and ablations
  • Operate and maintain complex medical equipment, including 3D mapping systems and fluoroscopy machines
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to emergencies
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
Work Environment

Our hospital is a short-term acute care facility and a teaching hospital, with a total of 748 staffed beds. We are proud to be one of the top 50 heart and vascular centers in the country.

Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
  • Ability to work 40-hour day/evening shifts, with occasional late case coverage
