Job Title: Staff Cyber Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Cyber Software Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that impact national security and defense.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing secure software systems, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, software development, and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop secure software systems, including security architecture and threat modeling.
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify potential security risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, security, and program management, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, and security reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve the security of our products.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with 14 years of experience in software development and cybersecurity, or Master's degree with 12 years of experience, or PhD with 9 years of experience.
  • Minimum two years of cumulative experience in cybersecurity requirements development, security and cyber threat analysis, security systems engineering, cyber systems architecture development, or cybersecurity policy development.
  • Experience with software languages/technologies, including C/C++, Java, Python, and C#.
  • U.S. Citizenship and active secret DoD clearance required, with the ability to obtain higher Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity.
  • Experience working in the defense industry or weapons systems.
  • Experience with software version control tools, including Git.
  • Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
