Job Summary

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is seeking a highly skilled External Affairs Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Office of Congressional Affairs and Communications, you will play a critical role in supporting our Agency's communications activities and strategies related to congressional affairs and stakeholder relations.

About the Role

This position is responsible for managing external facing communications, including responding to queries from external stakeholders or clients. You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts and other communications specialists to develop and implement effective communications strategies. Your duties will include drafting internal briefing documents and external communications, monitoring centralized email boxes and responding to questions or concerns from respondents outside of the organization, and communicating with members of congressional staff in support of scheduling meetings, briefings, or other events.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage external facing communications, including responding to queries from external stakeholders or clients

• Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and other communications specialists to develop and implement effective communications strategies

• Draft internal briefing documents and external communications, including email blasts for stakeholders and congressional audiences

• Monitor centralized email boxes and respond to questions or concerns from respondents outside of the organization

• Communicate with members of congressional staff in support of scheduling meetings, briefings, or other events

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of government communications and stakeholder relations. You will also need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Additionally, you will need to have a strong attention to detail and be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
