Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Ascension. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.
  • Set up and adjust equipment, manually maneuvering transducers to perform exams.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Lock/tag out equipment as necessary.
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data/history.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies and maintain licensure/certification/registration requirements.
Requirements
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 6 months of hire date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 6 months of hire date.
  • Sonography Tech credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 6 months of hire date.
