Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician - Gastroenterology Specialist to join our team at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, and patient education.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, medical staff, and administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Follow established standards of care, federal, state, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Use health promotion principles and techniques to educate patients and families.
  • Evaluate patient problems, provide advice, intervention, or referral as needed.
  • Document all encounters thoroughly in the patient's medical record.
  • Make responsible decisions within the scope of practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes, policy reviews, and continuing medical education.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and appearance of the department.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of related experience, including residency in a directly related medical specialty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interpersonal skills, including dependability, self-confidence, compassion, professionalism, and adaptability.
  • Ability to advise and train clinical professionals, staff, and students.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids.
