Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for applying the skills and art of nuclear medicine imaging through safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radionuclide therapy
  • Prepare, perform QC, and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for off-hour procedures
  • Perform urgent Nuclear Medicine procedures in an on-call status or in a single technologist staffing model
  • Check the order for complete information and proper exam and schedule exams as needed
  • Obtain sufficient information to determine whether the exam should be performed immediately or within a specific time frame
  • Determine if additional technical support is required and follow the proper procedure for obtaining support
  • Adhere to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Interact appropriately with patients and all care providers
Requirements:
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (required)
  • State Licensure (preferred)
  • BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (preferred at hire)
  • Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)
  • 1 year of experience practicing Nuclear Medicine experience (preferred)
Working Conditions:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be exposed to periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may also be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, high noise levels, and bright lights. Additionally, you may be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids and human blood and other potentially infectious materials.
