Position Overview:
The Site Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing services and support for young individuals at our Lawrence and Haverhill Youth Centers. This position is responsible for ensuring the center remains accessible to emerging young adults and their families. The Site Coordinator will maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment while facilitating community partnerships and assisting in the organization of events both at the center and within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Streetwork team to develop a calendar of events and community activities.
- Engage with community partners to ensure that the use of the center aligns with UTEC's mission and values.
- Manage the scheduling and planning of events at the center and for UTEC-sponsored community events, including handling necessary permits.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to assistants or interns as needed.
- Ensure the center is well-stocked with essential supplies and technology.
- Track relevant data, including the number of young adults utilizing the space and the services accessed.
- Maintain organized records related to programs, curriculum, and community events.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding upcoming events.
- Coordinate enrichment opportunities for young adults, such as classes and workshops.
- Facilitate group activities and provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of logistics and operations for managing a community space.
- Ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, particularly with young adults.
- Creative skills for designing promotional materials and planning events.
- Proficiency in Google/Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented project management skills, particularly in tracking data and budgets.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
- Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
- Preferred knowledge of youth enrichment activities and trauma-informed approaches.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred lived experience.
- GED or High School diploma required.
- Experience working with at-risk youth is highly preferred.
- Experience in event planning and promotion is also highly preferred.
- Experience collaborating with community partners is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid MA driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
