Livestock Educator

Penn State Extension is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Extension Educator with the Livestock Team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of agriculture and make a lasting impact on the community.

• Innovate and lead educational and applied research programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of livestock producers, employees, and industry representatives.
• Provide education and technical assistance in areas such as business management, marketing, health, nutrition, feeding management, production, reproduction, genetics, and nutrient management.
• Collaborate with university-based research faculty to develop and conduct applied research that addresses the needs of the livestock industry.
• Create original content to engage audiences through online courses, videos, mobile apps, and electronic publications.
• Contribute to significant efforts to improve livestock management practices and the viability of Pennsylvania's livestock industry.

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as agricultural education, animal science, or a related field.
• 1 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in all types of livestock production, with a strong background in beef or small ruminant production being highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and engage with diverse populations and audiences.
• Valid driver's license, access to a private automobile, and willingness to travel the state of Pennsylvania.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in other languages valued.
