Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team at Children's Center of Walkersville. As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality early childhood education experiences for our 3-4-year-old students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curriculum plans that meet the needs of our students, aligning with the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies standards.
  • Provide ongoing assessments and hold bi-annual conferences with child's primary caregivers.
  • Supervise and promote activities that foster the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child.
  • Electronically document daily communication with child's primary caregivers.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, redirecting challenging behavior in a positive and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a Child Care Center.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have completed 90 clock hours in child development/curriculum or equivalent.
  • Must have Associates Degree* in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Must hold a Maryland Child Care Credential Level 5* or higher.

*Candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered if they maintain continued education with the goal of achieving these criteria within 2 years.
