Senior Automation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team at Lonza. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting ongoing operations through technical assistance related to manufacturing and process systems.

• Technical Support: Provide technical support to operations customers to ensure that equipment and facilities are designed and operating optimally to meet production needs.
• Automation Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in site support on automation-related issues and help design, select, and implement new process automation technologies.
• Project Planning and Execution: Plan and execute plant projects involving complex automation changes and significant process improvements, including lump sum capital projects.
• System Programming: Program Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Network Support: Support plant communications networks, including Ethernet IP, Devicenet, and Modbus.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering required.
• Experience: Experience from a Pharma or Biotech environment.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage small and medium projects with little direction, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
