Primary Care LPN or Medical Assistant Job Description

Fast Pace Health/Reel Foot Walk-in Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Primary Care LPN or Medical Assistant to join our growing team. Responsibilities
  • Triage patients by checking and recording vitals, collect and record pertinent clinical history, and all other information deemed necessary for proper charting in the EMS.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Assist primary care providers in patient assessments, examinations, and minor procedures.
  • Observe patients, charting, reporting changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
  • Perform lab testing and phlebotomy, handle and label specimens for laboratory and pathology testing.
  • Perform wound care and suture removal as needed.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
  • Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality during procedures.
  • Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all policies and procedures of the company.
  • Ability to adhere to the Core Values of the Company, of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and schedule referrals.
  • Maintain and update patient records.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
  • May perform as a Scribe as needed.
  • Assist providers with conducting proper patient follow-ups, including but not limited to, conducting follow-up calls within 1-2 days of treatment, respond to messages within the same day of receipt.
  • Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and triage urgent messages to primary care providers.
  • Manage inventory, order medical supplies and medications as needed.
  • Responsible for learning the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance.
  • Maintain primary care, patient-centered medical home, and value-based care knowledge to promote and sell services.
