Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key member bank contacts to promote VBA offerings.
  • Coordinate with the EVP on implementation of the VBA's government and political relations programs, including legislative lobbying, grassroots advocacy, and PAC fundraising.
  • Track and analyze legislation relevant to the banking industry and participate in legislative and regulatory policy development.
  • Manage engagement with bank contacts on grassroots and PAC advocacy opportunities and participate in the planning and execution of various banker-policy maker events.
  • Partner with the EVP and VBA Communications Department to develop and execute an outreach plan to run a successful annual BankPAC campaign.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and 2 years of relevant experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia's legislative and political systems or with the banking industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to develop strong, collaborative, and professional relationships.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines by maintaining a high level of organization, accuracy, time management, and the ability to identify priorities.
  • Experience with Windows-based software, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to use and troubleshoot technology.
